Freedom in your Hands
Amnesty’s action on Burma was inspired by the work of James Mackay, a London-based freelance documentary photographer who has photographed more than 160 former Burmese political prisoners.
Jamie Elkins
Handcrafed films’ soundtrack composer has been developing his style of music from youthful guitar angst to soulful, thought provoking present. He now composes on a freelance basis and has worked on a number of adverts, short films and with various Non-Governmental Organisations (WSPA, EIA, Earthsight and Eco-storm).
Amnesty Youth Group
The Handcrafted Film team are delighted to be working with Amnesty International UK’s Education and Student Team on a long and challenging shoot this year following an Amnesty Student Youth Group. Student activists play a major part in Amnesty’s campaigns, they help raise awareness in demonstrations and actions, as well as through things such as fundraising, petition and letter writing. Amnesty Student Youth Groups have the ability to make a big impact on Amnesty campaigns. The film will follow one Youth Group from Eastlea Community School, East London, as they take action from start to finish. We will keep you posted on progress.
Tom Thistlethwaite
After a two-year stint at EIA editing campaign films and extensive expierence of producing language versions, Tom relocated to Berlin to go freelance. Recent work on EIA and WSPA projects has continued the NGO focus, but has been complimented with more experimental short film and music videos.
