My name is Elisha Thompson Mwankenja. I am a Tanzanian born on November 1979 in Dodoma region central zone of Tanzania but my origin is from Southern highland of Tanzania where my parents come from. So my ethnic tribe is Nyankyusa.

My educational level is degree, I got degree at University of Dar es salaam Tanzania where I studied Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Performing Arts where I concentrated/specialized in Film and Television Productions.

I joined the University in 2004 and graduated on November 2007.

After finishing my study I worked with the company called Compass film of Hamburg German as Camera assistant and sound engineer.

After that I work with Non Profit organization called AFNET (Ant Female Genital Mutilation Network) as a coordinator of their project called STREAM (Sharing Technology and Resources for Engage and Active Media) for one year. The project was global movement for the abandonment of female genital mutilation (the campaign was done through films and television programs).

In January 2010 I opened my company called DESERT FILM UNIT, which deal with the production of documentary film and television Programme.

So up to now I am a freelancer working with my own company.
